Values and practices

As Wendell Berry has said, “A change of heart or of values without a practice is only another pointless luxury of a passively consumptive way of life.”  Wendell Berry, The Idea of a Local Economy

Therefore these are our common values as a Christian discipleship community, and the practices which embody them:

  • Eucharist (Mark 14:22-25)
  • Queries and advices
  • Contemplative prayer (Mt 6:5-13)
  • Daily prayer (Philippians 4:6)
  • Binding and loosing (Mt 18:15-18)
  • Fun
  • Honesty, truthfulness, integrity (Mt 5:37)
  • International solidarity
  • Life stories
  • Living in proximity (shared common life)
  • Solidarity with indigenous Australians
  • Economic sharing (including financial support for GraceTree)
Care for creation (sustainability)

Engagement with Principalities and Powers

Out of these practices emerge our common life.
